Meet Roger

Roger was rescued from Chicago Animal Care and Control after being found wandering the streets as a stray. They may never know how this senior boy survived on his own, but it was clear he was special.

Once Roger arrived at ALIVE Rescue, they discovered just how much he had endured. He suffered from painful, chronic ear infections, a persistent cough, severe dental disease, and thick matting from long-term neglect. Years of discomfort had also left him extremely sensitive around his head and neck.

Roger received the care he desperately needed, including dental surgery with twelve extractions, a neuter, vaccines, bloodwork, allergy injections, ear treatments, and grooming under sedation.

Through it all, Roger’s spirit never dimmed. He remained energetic and sweet, charming everyone with his little bouncy steps and quickly becoming a volunteer favorite. After everything he had been through, Roger was finally getting the comfort, care, and second chance he deserved.
