Meet Tatum

Tatum’s journey began at the Darlington County Animal Shelter in South Carolina, where she was rescued by Lucky Dog Rescue along with her litter of puppies. Despite the stressful environment, she remained a devoted mom, caring for her puppies every step of the way.

After moving into foster care, Tatum and her puppies received the medical attention they needed. Her puppies were treated for lice and related skin issues, while Tatum was diagnosed as heartworm positive and began treatment of her own.

Once her puppies were healthy and ready for homes, it was finally Tatum’s turn for a second chance. She completed treatment, made her way to the DC area, and found a family who quickly fell in love with her joyful personality.

Today, Tatum is thriving. Her family calls her a “social butterfly” who loves people, dogs, swimming, post-bath zoomies, and shredding paper towel rolls.

Her adopter shared, “Tatum is honestly the best dog. She is so loved by our family, our friends, and even the staff at her daycare consider her a favorite. We get so many compliments on her temperament.”
